Thunder Bay's police chief, J.P. Levesque, stands trial today. He's facing charges of breach of trust and obstruction of justice.
The legal proceedings are also linked to the mayor's offfice. The police chief has been on leave, pending the outcome of the trial.
Regional Senior Justice Bonnie Warkentin will preside. Jason Nicol will be the prosecuter, while Brian Gover and Federick Schumann will be counsel for the defence.
Deputy Chief Sylvie Hauth has been appointed acting police chief.
