Police in Kenora are dealing with drug traffickers. Charges were laid Friday, in connection with a recent investigation into the sale of cocaine.

Two adults from Winnipeg -- and a man from the Red Lake area -- will answer the charges.

Sheila Blais, 44, of Winnipeg has been charged with;

  • Trafficking in Schedule I substance-Cocaine sec. 5(1) Controlled Drug and Substance Act (CDSA)
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 sec. 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC)

She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Kenneth Gionet, 40, of Winnipeg has been charged with;

  • Trafficking in Schedule I substance-Cocaine sec. 5(1) Controlled Drug and Substance Act (CDSA)
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 sec. 354(1)(a) CC
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order sec. 733.1(1) (CC).

He has been held in custod y pending a bail hearing.

Michael Borchardt, 27, of Madsen has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking-Cocaine sec. 5(2) CDSA.

He was released to appear in Kenora court June 8 to answer to the charge.
