The Kenora Detachment of the OPP are reminding the public that it's a criminal offence to issue a bomb threat.
Police and emergency crews responded to the Kenricia Hotel around 1 p.m. yesterday afternoon following the threat. The OPP confirmed that a search of the building found nothing. Residents were able to return to their homes and businesses around 2 p.m., following the search.
Police would like to remind the public that a threat of this nature is not only an offence under the criminal code, but it also ties up several emergency services that are needed to respond to other emergency calls for service.
Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to call the OPP at 807-548-5534 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS). The investigation is continuing.
