Kids across the district are headed back to school today, and Environment Canada Meteorologist Geoff Coulson said the weather should make it an easier transition.
"Pretty quiet middle party of the week for Kenora and pretty much all of the Lake of the Woods area. Lots of sunshine in the forecast. We have seasonal highs as well. Normal high for this time of the year is 18 degrees and we're going to be right around that," he said.
Coulson said students may want to bring a rain jacket for Friday.
"Things get a little bit more unsettled as we finish off the week on Friday. But the chance of showers still pretty slight, and those temperatures still around where they should be for this time of year," he said.
He added, for kids already thinking about the weekend, it should be pretty nice.
"As we head into the weekend, we're looking at temperatures a little warmer then normal, building up into the low 20s. Still a little bit unsettled as well, with a chance of showers. But over all the weather looks pretty quiet over the course of the coming days," he said.
