The city of Kenora has announced their plans for road repaving in 2017 as part of their 2017 capital budget. 12 roads are on the to-do-list for the city.

Kenora City Clerk Heather Kasprick explains that workers will be trying to finish all of them this summer.

“The city plans to do those jobs in 2017. Things can happen, and sometimes all of them get finished, and sometimes only some of them get finished. These are the roads we intend to finish, but there's no guarantee that all of them will be finished by the end of the year,” she said.

Kasprick says that dates are not set, but the public will be notified.

“The city is committed to communicating with the public with when we're planning on paving certain roads. We will notify the people affected so that they can expect traffic delays,” she said.

The streets that are on the list include:

Norman Drive from Government Road to Deacon Street
Parsons Street from Lakeview Drive to CPR Overpass
Florence Avenue
Intersection of 2nd Street South and Main Street
2nd Street South
Water Street
Bernier Drive
Lane between Artillery Way and 12th Avenue North
River Drive from Highway 17 East to Highway 17 East
Fourth Street South from River Drive to Rocky Heights Road
Golf Course Road from Glen Cameron Drive to Bayridge Road
Veterans Drive at Cardlock
