A Kenora paramedic has received a prestigious award for his 20 years of service to the region.

Advanced Care Flight Paramedic Dan Sewell with Kenora’s Ornge Air Ambulance received the Governor General’s Emergency Medical Services Exemplary Service Award at a conference in Niagara Falls earlier this month.

“We’re very proud of Dan Sewell for his exemplary service and accomplishment,” says Kenora Base Manager, Anthony Sharp. “Ornge, and all of his colleagues at the Kenora Base wish to congratulate Dan and thank him for his compassionate professionalism and service to our community.”

Sewell began his career with the James Bay Paramedic Service in 2001, before joining the Ontario Air Ambulance program in Moosonee in 2003. In 2005, Dan moved to Kenora and became an Advanced Care Paramedic by 2006. He’s served the Kenora district for over 14 years now.
