A 44-year-old inmate at the Kenora District Jail has been charged for calling in a bomb threat to Dryden High School.
Edward Hamel allegedly called in the bomb threat to the Dryden Police Dispatch Centre shortly before noon on Wednesday, causing a full emergency response and the evacuation of staff and students attending summer programs.
The evacuation was done safely without incident. The high school was closed and secured for the remainder of the day.
Hamel is facing charges of public mischief and uttering threats.
