The City of Kenora is under a complete fire ban. Kenora Fire and Emergency Services issued the fire ban Monday afternoon after hot, dry conditions sparked a number of fires in the region over the weekend. The fire ban includes all outside burning, including brush/grass fires, backyard fire pits or cook stoves that use solid fuels.

Burn permits have also been cancelled. The City of Kenora will remain under a fire ban until the Restricted Fire Zone for the Northwest region by the MNRF is lifted.

The City of Dryden and the Municipality of Sioux Narrows-Nestor Falls are also currently under a fire ban due to the extreme forest fire hazard.
