derouinjesseyJessey Derouin enjoys an afternoon of angling on Basket Lake. The wind chill didn't bother Jessey Derouin. He was focused on fishing yesterday, during the 73rd annual Redditt Winter Carnival.

While dropping a line, he talked about one of his favourite fishing trips.

"We caught a lot of walleye, a big jack and a bass," he said with a grin, recalling the 17-incher.

Jessey's mom, Jen Derouin, won yesterday's tournament, while Kyle Prystie came second.

"I used to live out here in Redditt, and I haven't been out here in a couple of years for the carnival," he said. "I'm so happy I caught a fish. I've never caught a fish in the winter."
