Community members are pitching in to help those in need.
The Drive Away Hunger Campaign has kicked off, as BDO employees have organized an employee-led food drive in support of those in need in Dryden.
Stephanie Wittwer-Rourke, Intermediate Tax Technician with BDO Canada, spoke about the campaign, and how it can help Dryden.
“All the donations are staying locally. All of the donations will be going towards the Dryden Food Bank. According to Food Banks Canada, over 850,000 Canadians rely on food banks each month, many of whom are children. There are people in need in Dryden. With the rising costs of groceries and everything else, there are families that are struggling,” she said.
BDO employees will be at the Dryden Safeway between 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. today to collect donations.
The campaign runs until October 13. Donations are also accepted at the Dryden BDO office.
