A power line is down on Valley Drive. The OPP and Fire Department were called to the scene when the a transformer caught fire near C&C Service.

Alicia Sayers is a spokes person for Hydro One. She explains what happened.

"Our Hydro One crews in the area are attending a scene where a pole caught on fire due to a switch. The switch controls the transformer, which is the piece of equipment on the pole. This caused it to fail, which then caused the pole to catch on fire. So, right now our crews are on site making repairs and replacing the pole to restore power to our customers as quickly and as safely as possible," she said.

Power is currently still out. Sayers says less then 20 customers were affected by the outtage. She adds that the estimated time for the power to be fully restored is 7:30 tonight.

The road was briefly closed in both directions as crews work to repair the damage.
