A special weather statement is in effect across the region, and it calls for between 10 and 15 centimetres of snow by tomorrow night. Rain mixed with snow is expected to begin falling tonight.
Environment Canada says the snowfall is associated with a Colorado low that will track through the area tonight and tomorrow, and will bring cooler temperatures along with it. Meteorologists add that a snowfall warning may be issued tomorrow.
Visibility is expected to be affected by the blowing snow and rain, and residents are reminded to drive according to conditions.
Residents travelling east are warned that heavy rain can be expected in the Ignace and English River areas tonight and tomorrow, and freezing rain is a possibility. Up to 30 millimetres of rain is expected, before it transitions into snow on Thursday night.
