The Kenora Midget AAA Thistles are looking forward to a change of scenery. They got swept by Yellowhead over the weekend.
The final was 3-0 Saturday night, after a 7-3 loss Friday. Yellowhead led from start to finish last night, and the visitors outshot Kenora in all three periods, which is why Yellowhead's in second place in the league.
Kenora heads west this coming weekend to visit Portage for a game against Central Plains, then Souris to play Southwest and finally Brandon.
Kenora returns home to host the Norman North Stars in two weeks. The North Stars are last, but fans will remember the suspensions that came from the Thistles last visit, when the teams split their weekend series.
After this last weekend, the Thistles are in ninth place, two points behind the Winnipeg Bruins. They're in the eighth and final playoff spot.
Central Plains is five points behind Kenora in the standings, while Southwest is fourth and Brandon is fifth.
