About 30 cars tried out the dirt track at the Lake of the Woods Speedway earlier today. Crews had been working steady on the surface, making a significant difference since last fall's hot laps.

Organizers have moved back of the start of the racing season, due to construction and material delays.

 

Updated schedule:

June 9 - Open practice 12 p.m. -3 p.m.

June 17 - Open practice 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.

June 22 - Open practice 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

July 6 - Open practice 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

July 13 - Open practice 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

July 20 - Season opener, hot laps at 7 p.m. and racing at 7:30 p.m.
