Fireworks announced for the long weekend

There will be fireworks in Kenora this summer after all.

The Canada Day fireworks display was cancelled because we were in a Restricted Fire Zone.

Heather MacMurphy is the chair of Harbourfest and they have arranged to hold them this weekend.

“We’re actually really happy to be partnering with the City of Kenora Tourism and through donations of our Friends of the Lake to bring the fireworks back to the Harbourfront for the long weekend,” says MacMurphy.

While the evening entertainment will limited to Saturday night, MacMurphy says they have a full line-up during the day on Sunday.

“Our pancake breakfast at the Legion, our car show, our wooden boat parade and of course the fireworks are happening.”

There will also be kids entertainment under the Jarnel Contracting Pavilion with Al Simmons and special guest Sarah Teakle.

The fireworks will take place at 10:45 on Sunday, August 6th.
