Mayor Dan Reynard and MPP Greg Rickford are certainly ready for summer 2022!
At a recent event, Kenora Mayor Dan Reynard and MPP for the Kenora-Rainy River Riding, Greg Rickford, shared their excitement for the highly anticipated summer of 2022.
When asked to describe his thoughts in one word, Reynard replied with “Hopeful!”
“I think what I am looking forward to is having the energy back in the community. We saw people coming back to their camps around easter and hopefully, we will see our tourism industry start to come back,” explained Reynard.
“I am hopeful that we will see some of our tourist camps, which have been struggling [from COVID-19], start to open back up and I am hopeful that we will see more people starting to travel again whether it be around Canada or with the Americans starting to come back to visit.”
“I think it is going to be a much busier summer and when our summer is busy... our businesses prosper,” he concluded.
When asked about his thoughts about the summer, Rickford said “You know, COVID has sucked the life out of us over the past couple of years – it feels like this summer is going to be different.”
“We are back and it feels good,” said Rickford as he concluded his thoughts.
