The Kenora OPP is holding a recruitment session for the auxiliary program tonight at the Kenora Detachment. Const. Laurie Harkof explained what an auxiliary constable's duties are.
"Just a few of the auxiliary constable's duties include; to assist community services officers and other patrol officers, assistance with snow, vehicle, marine, and all terrain patrol. They also assist with home, cottage, and business checks. They assist with trades, festivals, sporting venues, staffing information booths,safety clinics, and bicycle rodeos," she said.
Harkof also explained what the session will go over.
"In the session you'll learn what is required to become an auxiliary police constable. We'll explain the hiring process, and the training required," she said.
The session is free and no registration is required.It all starts at 7 o'clock.
