The Province of Manitoba says its working with the Province of Ontario, in terms of investigating the possibility of twinning the section between Falcon Lake and the Ontario border.

This is in addition to the work being done to twin the first phase of Highway 17 between the border and Kenora.

The section between West Hawk and Falcon Lake was the scene of the fatal collision last weekend, which claimed the lives of two Dryden residents.

There has been a lot of back-and-forth in recent days about a start date for the twinning on the Ontario side, but no date for the start of construction has yet been set.
