Shoal Lake #40 member Brady Redsky is a recent graduate of the First Nations Natural Resources Youth Employment Program offered by Confederation College.

Redsky says he enjoyed the experience.

"I thought it was interesting, all the hands on stuff you can do." he said.

Participants received their training certificates and high school co-op credits they earned during six weeks of work and training, designed to expose them to natural resources career paths and help prepare them for post-secondary education in the field.

Redsky is looking forward to a new career opportunity.

"In the spring time, I hope that I can go tree planting," he said.

Certifications include S102 forest firefighting, chainsaw, bear aware, tree planting training, brush saw training, first aid and more.
