The local chapter of Canadian Royal Purple is doing the rounds at Saakate House and the Fellowship Center.
Spokesperson Judy Morgan says they are dropping off packages in support of people who are victims of interpersonal violence.
“What we’re doing is for brain injury, and we’re delivering bags to Saakate House,” Morgan said following her appearance with other members of the Canadian Royal Purple at city council.
“Inside the bags are all the things they need from socks to toothpaste and a toothbrush, everything they leave at home and they have nothing.”
Morgan adds this is a campaign called Purple Thursday, which is taking place all across Canada today.
“We’re doing 10 bags for Saakate house and then we’re delivering parcels over to the Fellowship Center with things like winter gloves. So it’s all a part of Purple Thursday for brain injury.”
