Residents are being reminded to clean-up any trash they produce while out on the ice roads and trails.
This reminder comes after Debra Kasprick and her husband found three bags of trash while walking on the ice road, near Kenora, last weekend.
"We discovered 3 bags of garbage that were left on the ice. We are so lucky to have quick access to such an awesome resource at our finger tips, it's really too bad that some people don't feel the same about Lake of the Woods... it's NOT a garbage dump," said Kasprick.
Residents caught littering could be fined, under local by-laws.
Trash left on local waterways can posed a risk to local wildlife and pollute bodies of water.
