Members of the Kenora Detachment of the O.P.P. were kept busy over the weekend responding to a variety of calls and laying several charges. 

Between Friday, May 14 and Monday, May 17, they responded to 190 calls and laid 20 charges under the Criminal Code and the Highway Traffic Act. Some of the calls Police attended were;

  • 3 Mental Health Act

  • 12 Police Assistance
  • 15 Police Information
  • 3 Missing Person
  • 6 Theft
  • 4 Impaired/Over 80
  • 5 Trespass to Property Act
  • 8 Domestic Dispute
  • 23 Unwanted Person

The citizens of Ontario have other ways to report a minor crime. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is reminding the public about their online reporting system as an alternative to having an officer attend a scene for a minor incident.
