A Heat Warning is in effect for parts of northwestern Ontario today as Environment Canada warns of temperatures near 30 degrees.

The Heat Warning states hot daytime temperatures, along with warm overnight temperatures, are expected through tonight, and cooler temperatures should bring an end to the heat event by Tuesday.

Forecasters warn that extreme heat can affect anyone, particularly those most at-risk like the elderly, children, those with chronic illnesses or people working and exercising outdoors.

The risk of a thunderstorm is also in today’s forecast, along with rain continuing throughout the week.
