Paving work on Duke Street in Dryden starts Friday. The work is expected to be completed June 8, and the detour will take motorists through Princess Street.

Work on the project had to be suspended last fall, when the wintry weather intervened. Motorists have been driving on gravel.

The street was closed last week, as crews worked on water pipes underneath. The city's working on a balance between the need to maintain their infrastructure of roads and sewers, while also easing the tax burden on ratepayers.
