Donations continue to come in for the construction of the Kenora Rotary Peace Park.

Most recently, partners at MNP made a contribution of $1,000.00 and Dean Konoski of Rite-Way Decorators donated $500.00 toward the Peace Park project.

Dean’s donation was made in honour of his parents, Bill and Eula who were very involved with their Ukrainian heritage. His donation will go toward the granite peace pole which will include “May Peace Prevail on Earth” etched in Ukrainian. The six-sided pole will also include English, French, Ojibway, Oji-Cree and German.

The Kenora Rotary Club Buy a Brick campaign continues. Bricks can be ordered through the month of December and will be installed at the Splash Park, but funds raised this month will go toward the Peace Park Project.  Small bricks are $100.00 and large bricks are $250.00.  All brick purchasers will receive a tax receipt.

To date, $84,000.00 has been raised for the park, which is scheduled to open in October, 2022. The Peace Park is a partnership of City of Kenora and the MMIWGT2S+ Committee.
