OPP seize over $79,000 in Canadian currency while conducting a traffic stop.
A member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Nipigon Detachment was conducting a general patrol on June 22, along Highway 11-17 when a vehicle was observed travelling at a high speed in the eastbound lane.
A traffic stop was conducted and more than $79,000 in Canadian currency was discovered by the officer. The money, along with the vehicle and two cell phones, was seized.
Keenan Dunkley, a 27-year-old from Ajax was arrested and charged with:
Possession of proceeds of crime over $5000, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.
The accused will appear before an Ontario Court of Justice in Nipigon at a later date.
