Members of the Red Lake OPP have made a $60,000 seizure of illegal drugs, including methamphetamine, cocaine, morphine and codeine in the Red Lake area.

The Red Lake OPP says on June 2, officers from the Community Street Crime Unit and Kenora’s Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau conducted an investigation into drug trafficking in the area.

As a result of the investigation, 36-year-old Anthony Howell of Red Lake is facing charges of:

- Possession of a Schedule I Substance – methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance – cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance – morphine for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance – codeine for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
- Possession of Prohibited Weapon contrary to Prohibition Order

Howell remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
